Wanderer

If you love the sense of excitement and adventure that comes with travelling te world then this new interior trend is one that you should take a look at! The WANDERER trend is a cool and relaxed interior design that brings together bohemian and travel inspired elements that can be taken from different countries around the world. This look is perfect for those who wish to achieve a cosy and relaxed feel within their home whilst maintaining some character and personality across their chosen room.

This look can be partnered with a single colour palette or one that can be mixed and matched around your room. For a serene and tranquil space that can be inspired by Eastern travels use a selection of neutral whites, Greys and taupe colour tones that can be used across your walls and soft furnishings to create a peaceful ambience within your room. For a more bold and bright African inspired look you can use rich burnt orange, red and yellow that will create a burst of colour and warmth within your chosen space. Mediterranean inspired designs use a similar colour palette or opt for plaster coloured walls and pastels to create a feminine feel to your room. You can select a variety of wallpapers featuring tribal inspired patterns, mandala prints, cherry blossom trees or a wide variety of wall murals that can be used to remind you of your favourite scenery from around the world.

Opt for simple soft furnishings that reflect your travelling nature and your sense of exploration. Beautiful bohemian style cushions with tassels and embroidery will look wonderful on a plain sofa area and can be placed alongside photographic print cushions or plain linen designs for a simplified look. Select bold tribal inspired patterns, simple and elegant zen inspired designs or Greek key pattern cushions in monochrome colour palettes that will create an eye catching feature on a plain white bed or sofa. Wall tapestries also make a great feature in a wanderer inspired interior design. Opt for a traditional rug style tapestry that can be hung across the main feature wall to create a focal Point within your chosen space. This can be contrasted or co-ordinated with a floor rug in a similar pattern or colour scheme.

Where possible opt for hand carved or artisan furniture items such as a Moroccan coffee table, a Mediterranean sideboard or an African inspired bed frame with four chunky wooden posts and draped canopies; reminiscent of an African safari. These unique styles of furniture can be co-ordinated with matching accessories such as African masks that can be used to create a gallery style feature wall within your chosen room. Add a selection of photographs from your travels or why not place a framed world map on a main wall and use stickers and pins to mark every destination you have travelled to or all those that you wish to travel to. Include some traditional Moroccan style ceiling lights, a selection of lanterns and ornaments and souvenirs that you have collected from your travels that will add real character to your chosen space.
