Colour Trend – Citron

Summer is finally here and it is time to bring some sunshine into our home interiors with a fabulous CITRON interior colour scheme. This bold and vibrant yellow/green hue is reminiscent of beautiful limes and lemons and is sure to create a fresh feel in any room of the home. This colour works wonderfully with both neutral and bold colour schemes to create a designer feel that is bright yet elegant.

Colour Palette

For a more neutral and Scandinavian inspired design then partner citron with soft white, dove grey and taupe to create a refined and laid back feel in your chosen room. If you prefer a more chic and modern look then team citron with deep charcoal, navy, duck egg blue or fuchsia for a pop of vibrancy and style.

Cushions

There are a wide variety of cushions designs that will work well with this bright and zesty colour scheme. For a bold, tropical look then select striking floral cushions, palm prints and pineapple designs in citron, fuchsia, blue and green that will look amazing on a neutral sofa or bed set. For a more retro style design then select vintage geometric print designs in citron, duck egg and white that will add a pop of colour to any living room or bedroom interior.

Upholstery

If you wish to create a focal point in your bedroom interior then why not upholster a large headboard in some bright citron floral fabric for a bold and feminine feel.  For a modern feel in your home interior, why not upholster some chrome or high gloss bar stools with some citron coloured faux leather fabric to create a pop of colour in your kitchen/diner interior.

Accessories

If you don’t feel brave enough to use this bold colour on your walls and soft furnishings then why not use it as an accent colour across your ornaments and accessories. A bright citron floor or table lamp will look great nestled beside a sofa or bed frame and will create a zoned area of colour within the room. A selection of green flowers and foliage will look amazing in a citron ceramic vase that can be placed in the centre of a plain painted dining table for an eye-catching interior finish. Mix and match accessories around the room with a selection of citron, black and white photo frames, candles and clocks for a variation in colour and tone.
