Colour Trend – Garnet

Jewelled colour tones are set to be increasingly popular this season as they create a classic pop of colour in any room of the home. Red colour schemes are a favoured choice for both modern and traditional homes and GARNET is a rich and bold red hue that is sure to create visual detail within your chosen space.

For a classical and elegant interior design then partner garnet with simple white and cream colour palettes for a pop of colour that remains light and illuminating. Modern homes will look great with garnet and grey or monochrome colour palette to create a sophisticated interior ambience. If you prefer a more period-inspired interior design then team garnet with deep forest green, navy and gold to create a rich and luxurious interior finish. Team this palette with floral or Victorian print wallpaper on a main chimney breast wall. For an eastern-inspired interior look then partner garnet with other jewelled colours such as emerald, amethyst and aquamarine for a bold and striking finish that adds glamour and opulence to your chosen room.  Add some oriental or Moroccan patterned wallpaper to complete this stylish look.

Red makes the perfect choice for soft furnishings as it can be used to create a visual feature in an otherwise neutral room.  For an opulent, traditional interior design then opt for some luxurious garnet velvet or satin curtains that can be accented with gold tiebacks and curtain poles for an elegant interior design. These can be paired with coordinating cushions featuring rococo style patterns or plain gold designs for a hint of luxury and glamour. If you prefer a modern retro-inspired design then select some garnet, monochrome and grey patterned cushions and curtains featuring bold geometric patterns that will create an eye-catching focal point within your room. Partner with some grey faux fur cushions or knitted designs for a cosy designer finish. Garnet, emerald and turquoise satin cushions with metallic embroidery and tassels will create a Moroccan inspired look in your bedroom or living room area.

White painted furniture will balance the bold undertones of a garnet colour scheme and will create a sense of space and light that is elegant and classical. Grey painted furniture will also compliment this colour scheme and creates a tonal space that is cosy and modern.  If you prefer a more rustic look then team a garnet colour scheme with some solid oak furniture that will create a country cottage feel in any room of the home. If you are feeling particularly bold then select some dark painted furniture or high gloss for an oriental-inspired interior look. Add a selection of plain white ceramics for a classic interior finish or opt for shimmering gold accessories such as frames, vases and mirrored furniture for a classic, stately inspired design.
