Yuletide Kitchen Accessories

Christmas is a time for spending moments with family and friends and exchanging gifts, however sometimes we can repeat on the gifts that we give , opting for the same style of present year after year. Instead of traditional bath gifts, clothes or pyjamas why not opt for some fun and stylish kitchen accessories that can be used throughout the festive season and beyond to make your Christmas that little bit more special.

If you love entertaining at Christmas time then why not select some fun drinks accessories that will create a talking point at any yuletide party. Set up a cocktail area in your kitchen and accessories the space with some cocktail shakers, spirits and mixers and include some small bowls with olives, lemons, mint and maybe an umbrella or two where you can enjoy a cocktail master class with all of your friends and family. Print off little cocktail recipe cards and place them in a Santa hat and challenge your guests to pick a random card from the hat and make the cocktail following the steps. Alternatively purchase some stylish glass or copper pitchers and make some large jugs of cocktails and challenge your guests to guess which cocktail they are drinking.

If you are like me then baking is always a fun and creative part of any Christmas celebrations. Baked goods such as cookies, fudge and cupcakes make a great gift for the food lovers in your family or alternatively get your children involved in making a Christmas cake or a gingerbread house that can be nibbled across the Christmas celebrations. Choose some fun cake based accessories such as shaped baking tins, cookie cutters and aprons or some striking cake stands that can be used to display your finished masterpiece. Opt for a tiered cake stand for cupcakes in festive red, green and gold finishes or sleek and elegant copper stands for a more modern kitchen interior. If you are feeling extra creative then opt for a glass cake stand with a glass dome top that can be used to create a snow globe style centrepiece with your cake or gingerbread house in the centre and a dusting of grated white chocolate as the base.

Herb gardens are a thoughtful and practical gift that you can give to friends and family who enjoy cooking. Take a simple trough style planter in traditional wood, painted wood or metal such as copper, chrome or brass and add a selection of herb plants, concentrating on those that would be used most regularly in everyday cooking. Basil, mint, parsley and rosemary are great options to start. If your gift receiver is also green fingered then why not give them the herb garden planter and several packets of seeds so they can grow their own plants and then enjoy them in their cooking.
