Wooden Tiles Interior Design

Forget porcelain, acrylic and terracotta interiors this year is all about WOODEN TILES that will create warmth and texture in your home interior. Wooden tiles make a fabulous feature across floors, walls and feature panels and are a great way of creating a focal point in any room of the home. These stylish tiles come in a range of styles and designs and can be coordinated with your chosen interior look.

Floor Tiles
Laminate and solid wood flooring makes a classic feature in home interiors however why not shake up your look by trading classic planks and boards for more stylish and intricate shaped tiles that will create an artistic formation across your floor areas. For a simple and elegant look then select square-shaped wooden tiles that can be laid in a linear or diamond formation and will look great in a rustic kitchen or hallway for a parquet style finish. If you prefer a more contemporary look then opt for geometric shapes such as triangles and hexagons that will create visual detail over large floor space. Opt for golden oak for a cosy feel, birch and ash for a more Nordic design or why not use a mix and match of textures and grains for added variation.

Wall Tiles
For me, no bathroom or kitchen is complete without a selection of stylish wall tiles that can be used to draw the eye to specific areas of the room and can be easily co-ordinated to your chosen colour scheme and interior style. Why not try swapping traditional porcelain, Spanish or terracotta tiles for more homely wooden tiles that will look fabulous in a farmhouse, industrial and Scandinavian style kitchens and bathrooms. For a textural finish that is chunky and aesthetically pleasing, opt for oak or driftwood tiling that gives a rustic finish that is perfect for accentuating an oven or sink area or for creating detail around a bath or shower. If you prefer a more classic look then opt for rectangular wooden tiles that can be displayed in plank style formations over entire feature walls, bath panels or used floor to ceiling for a sleek, universal finish.

Cladding

If you cannot face the hassle of laying singular tiles then ‘tile effect’ wood cladding is the perfect choice for your home interior. This cladding comes in large panels that can be easily attached to your walls using adhesive or wall tacks. For an aesthetically pleasing and textural finish, why not select some overlapping oak style panelling that will create a dramatic rustic feature on the main feature wall or can be used to accentuate a zoned area of your chosen room. Alternatively, why not create a wallpaper style feature wall made up of chevrons or stripes of varying wood colours that will create an eye-catching statement within the home while maintaining the warmth and beauty of natural materials and finishes.  3D wall panels provide a contemporary addition to a fireplace, oven surround or bath splashback and perfectly combine modern and traditional interior design.
