Colour Trend – Mocha

Natural and elegant colour tones are a timeless colour choice for a wide variety of interior designs. They are simple and elegant and can be paired with many different bold and neutral colour palettes. This autumn has seen the return of one of the interior design worlds most beloved colour choices: MOCHA. This soft and chic brown hue works wonderfully in both modern and traditional homes to give a cosy and welcoming ambiance within your chosen space.

Mocha works perfectly alongside rich cream, beige, biscuit and sand colour tones to create a traditional and cosy feel in any room of the home. This colour palette can be teamed with a cream and mocha striped wallpaper or a traditional rococo style print for a refined period style elegance. A more soft and feminine design can be achieved by partnering mocha with a selection of pastel or dusky colours such as baby pink, mauve and peach that will look wonderful partnered with a geometric rose gold wallpaper. If masculine colour palettes are more to your taste then you can partner mocha with deep black and smoky grey hues for a contemporary and sophisticated finish that will look great in any room of the home.

Neutral and natural coloured soft furnishings will create a sense of space and light within your chosen room whilst maintaining a cosy and relaxed feel within your home. Mocha is a great colour choice for some cotton or linen curtains and upholstery for a soft and refined French Château feel. For a more rich and cosy design that is perfect for the upcoming colder months then why not opt for some cream and mocha coloured faux fur and Mongolian cushions that will look great scattered along a sofa or bed area. These can also be teamed with a selection of woodland animal cushions for a classic autumn/winter feel. This look also works well when partnered with a deep mocha coloured shag pile rug and furry throws for added texture and a relaxed design.

Traditional oak furniture is a perfect partner to a mocha coloured home interior as it compliments the rich and cosy tones of the interior background. Chunky and rustic designs work in a farmhouse inspired room while more linear and light oak items will add a fresh contemporary twist. Cream or grey painted furniture items will also work well with a mocha interior colour palette and create a perfect balance of fresh and cosy colour within your room. Opt for classic accessories such as gold, rose gold or cream painted chandeliers that will create a sumptuous château style within your home or for a more natural Nordic inspired design; select wooden accessories such as vases, candle holders and lanterns that will look great on a windowsill, sideboard or mantelpiece to create a focal point within your interior space.
