A brief explanation as to how Geo-Glass Coffee Tables are manufactured

If your Geo-Glass table is shaped entirely from one sheet of glass then this glass has been annealed. Annealing is a method of gently cooling the glass to enable the sculptor to mold and shape into the desired design. Annealed glass cannot be toughened due to the technique required for this procedure. If your Geo-Glass table features one sheet of flat glass with an alternative base then this glass has been toughened and subjected to thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength.

How to clean glass coffee tables and furniture safely and get a stunning finish

Even toughened glass requires care when polishing. Obviously applying too much force to polishing is potentially dangerous. It is best to approach cleaning your glass table the same as you would approach cleaning a mirror. Cleaning your table once a week should keep on top of day to day smears and finger print smudges that accumulate and will keep your new Geo glass table looking pristine...

Common sense care when handling glass

Please bear in mind that glass tables do require a certain amount of care and attention when moving them from place to place or adjusting them before and after cleaning/hovering. If your Glass table is on a rug it is important that you DO NOT use the rug as a means of dragging the table to a different location or drag the actual table itself. The act of ‘dragging’ a rug with the table on top and more specifically straightening out the rug after moving can cause the supporting sections of the table to taper out ever so slightly which subsequently applies stress to sections of the table (This is also the case if dragging the actual table).

Although this will not cause any issues instantly; over time the repetition of this act will eventually cause the table to crack due to the internal stresses applied to it, this could happen of its own accord or by merely placing an item on top of the table. For this reason we advise if wanting to move or adjust your Glass table please do so by lifting the table up from the floor and carry to required location. Due to the substantial pieces of glass used throughout our Geo-Glass range we do recommend that you have at least two people to carry out this task due to the sheer weight of many pieces in the range.
